Harry van Wijk, harmonium

Harry van Wijk studied the organ with Kees van Houten, Theo Jellema, Wolfgang Zerer and Joris Verdin and finished his master’s degree in 2002 at the Conservatory of Groningen. He has specialised in French and German music of the period 1850 – 1950. After his formal education he acquired a more in-depth knowlegde of the music by Bach and Mendeslssohn and attended courses and masterclasses with Ludger Lohmann, Leo van Doeselaar and Arno Krijger. Subsequently he won prizes at the International Organ Competition of Nijmegen and several German competitions. Harry has given numerous organ-concerts in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Britain and The United States and also is a church musician and choir-conductor in Amersfoort. Furhtermore, he works as an accompanist with several choirs and plays both the organ and the harmonium.
