Bart studied the viola with Erwin Schiffer and Marjolein Dispa in Amsterdam. He received his Bachelors Diploma in 1994 and Masters Degree with oustanding results in 1996. From 2000 onwards he has been the solo-viola player with the Gelders Orkest. With this orchestra he performed Don Quichotte together with solo-cellist David Geringas in 2005. Bart plays a viola built in 1989 by Alfons Pisters.
