The Alban Berg Ensemble proudly announces that Karolina Hartmann (mezzo-soprano) and Mark Omvlee (tenor) will be the soloists at the concert of october 16th 2012, with Mahler | Das Lied von der Erde.

Karolina Hartman, mezzo-soprano Karolina studied the piano with David Kuyken in Utrecht and singing with Hennie Diemer. She finished her Masters Degree in 2007. Karolina followed masterclasses with Udo Reinemann, Rudolf Jansen, Robert Holl, Jard van Nes, Peter Kooij and Olaf Bär. Karolina regularly sings with orchestras in The Netherlands and abroad and performs the main concert- and oratorio-repertoire. She has made several radio appearances and sang solo parts with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging with music by Johann Rosenmüller and with the lieder of Mahler and Schubert. Within the liedrepertoire Karolina is a specialist in Swedisch song, and in her recitals the Swedisch song always has a important role. Mark Omvlee, tenor Mark Omvlee graduated in 2003 as a student of Hein Meens at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He also studied with Marcel Reijans and Miranda van Kralingen and is currently coached by Gemma Visser. Mark has sung with the children’s opera company Xynix (now Holland Opera) performing in various roles throughout the Netherlands. The reportoire comprised both baroque opera’s and new music in Dutch. Other performance highlights are his appearance at the Grachtenfestival and his debut in the Zaterdag Matinee at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. in 2006 he made his debut at Opera Zuid (Mavra). Mark is now a member of the soloists ensemble of Opera Zuid, for which he will  perform Falstaff, Hänsel und Gretel, Nozze di Figaro, Der Rosenkavalier and Die Zauberflöte. Besides, Mark also performs as a concert singer. He regularly sings his favorite role of the Evangelist in Bach’s passions and extends his vast oratorium repertoire. Besides he does voice-over work for TV, DVD and film productions. Mark is the exclusive Disney-approved Dutch voice of Mickey Mouse. www.solotenor.nl
